Our skin changes with the Seasons. As winter winds and rain chill the air, it is important to nourish and protect our skin.
Our award-winning Made for Life Organics 100% organic balms and oils will do just that, giving you a healthy glow to the skin. Tried and tested in Cornwall – where we have some huge winds and waves at this time of year!
1. Cleanse deeply
Our special recommendations are to ensure that you cleanse deeply. Made for Life’s award-winning facial cleansing balm will do just this, whilst also opening up the olfactory senses for those with a bit of a sniffle. Warm between the hands, take a deep breath and apply. You can even wear whilst walking the dog, having that wild winter swim or going out for a run. Remove with a warm flannel and then use a soothing and rich balm to provide you with 12-hour protection.
2. Exfoliate weekly
Remember to exfoliate too – to remove dead skin to really effectively nourish. Every week works well for most people.
In the winter months our metabolic rate slows down and this affects both your body and skin, which is of course the largest organ of the body. Your skin and body need more stimulation in the winter months to keep healthy.
3. Hydrate
Keeping hydrated all year round is important and whilst we drink cool refreshing drinks during the summer we still need to stay hydrated in the winter. Start your day with a warming pup of herbal tea. Make your own tea using ginger and lemon - add a teaspoon of honey to sweeten perhaps. If you have a cold; a sage or thyme infusion are great too. Simply put some into a pot and pour boiled water over for a great boost.
4. Take exercise
Brisk walks and exercise outside stimulate your lymphatic and boost those all-important endorphins to help boost your immune. So grab your hat, coat and gloves and go out for a walk in Nature. Sharing with a friend is always good too. For your physical and psychological wellbeing.

5. Body brushing
Body brushing when you shower stimulates your metabolic rate and lymphatic system, helping you to detox and improve your circulation. After showering, make sure you moisturise. Our Mindful Moments set provide you with the perfect trio to choose from.
5. Eat healthy
Make sure that you eat natural food groups that contain Omega 3 and Vitamins C & E. Fresh fruit and vegetables and seeds are high in these but supplements can help too.
6. Share a hug
Finally share a hug with someone you love – hugs keep you warm and they boost your oxytocin level and make you smile – a great way to beat any winter blues!
