Celebrating B Corp Month - Harry Young-Jamieson

What made you decide to gain B Corp accreditation?

At first, we saw B Corp as a way to validate the many positive practices we had already embedded in our business. However, as we progressed through the process, we realised that it was much more than a certification—it was a framework for continuous improvement. B Corp challenged us to think more critically about our impact and gave us the tools to refine and strengthen our commitment to sustainability, ethical business practices, and stakeholder well-being. It has since become a key part of our identity and ambition for the future.

When did you gain accreditation and what is your current score?

We proudly became a certified B Corp in June 2022, achieving a score of 86 points. This was a significant milestone for us, but we see it as just the beginning. We are continually working to improve our impact, and our goal is to push that score even higher in our next assessment.

What does the B Corp accreditation signify to you?

For us, B Corp represents a commitment to stakeholder capitalism—the balance of people, planet, and profit.

It’s a way of ensuring that business can be a force for good, where success is measured not just by financial performance but by the positive impact we have on our employees, customers, community, and environment.

It holds us accountable and keeps us striving for better.

How does Cornwall inspire you?

Cornwall’s rugged coastline, open landscapes, and deep-rooted heritage of craftsmanship and sustainability are a constant source of inspiration. Beyond its natural beauty, the region’s strong sense of community and support for ethical business practices make it an incredible place to build and grow a values-driven company. There’s a collective spirit here—one that encourages innovation, resilience, and responsibility.

Name three of your favourite Cornish B Corp companies and tell us why.

Made for Life Organics – Beautiful, healing products that are crafted with care, and my wife is a huge fan! The focus on natural, ethically sourced ingredients aligns with everything we value.

Origin Coffee – I’m a devoted coffee drinker and Origin customer, and they were one of the companies that inspired me to embark on our own B Corp journey.

Smile Together – The impact they have on the local community is truly inspiring. Providing accessible dental care and championing social initiatives makes a tangible difference to people’s lives in Cornwall, and that, for me, is exactly what B Corp is all about.
