From its inception over 20 years ago, Made for Life has been instrumental in opening doors to people with cancer. It has been a life-changing experience for us and the therapists we have trained.
But above all for the women and men who have been able to walk into a spa and receive a treatment, having previously been turned away.
Therapists should be able to bespoke and deliver a spa treatment and the ability to converse with anyone living with cancer empathetically and knowledgeably.
Working closely with Oncology specialists, CIBTAC, and the Complementary Medical Association (CMA) to create the Advanced Cancer Touch Therapy training programme has changed the ability of spas, salons, and independent therapists to welcome anyone into their doors.
It has been a privilege to see the growth in the number of fully qualified therapists who now welcome people living with cancer.
Our aim is that the current statistic of 80% of spas that turn people with cancer becomes a thing of the past.

Advance Cancer Touch Therapy Training
Therapists should have the knowledge and practical skills to treat clients living with cancer. Our course is CMA-accredited, CIBTAC-endorsed, and SATCC-approved training and we have recognition from CIBTAC as being one of the leading training academies in the UK.
Advanced Cancer Touch Therapy training provides confidence and understanding about what needs to be done to protect and nurture clients. It gives therapists the ability to provide a safe environment and comforting spa rituals for those being treated for, living with, or in remission from cancer, alongside other long-term health issues.
Therapists gain a full appreciation and understanding of what precautions need to be taken when treating clients living with cancer to provide a nurturing and safe treatment.
Our course is delivered using a combination of online and face-to-face learning or fully face-to-face (depending on numbers and location). It contains:
- 6 theory modules
- Product knowledge
- Treatment demonstration
- Theory test relating to modules 1 to 5
- Supervised practice and practical assessment
- Case studies
- Level 3 or equivalent in beauty therapy, massage therapy, holistic therapies.
- Level 3 or equivalent in Anatomy & Physiology.
- Qualification should be OFQUAL registered.
Training Includes
- Complementary Medical Association (CMA) accredited certificate.
- CIBTAC approved certificate.
- 24 CPD points.
- Advanced Cancer Touch Therapy learner pack including training materials approved to SATCC, CMA and CIBTAC standards.
- Made for Life products to deliver treatments.
- An SATCC certificate to display in the reception.

Train the Tutor Programme
The Made for Life CMA-accredited, CIBTAC-endorsed, and SATCC-approved course enables tutors to confidently train level 3 therapists with the knowledge and practical skills to treat clients living with cancer.
Qualified tutors will be able to train the Advance Cancer Touch Therapy course to level 3 or equivalent therapists using Made for Life learning materials in line with Made for Life protocols and assessment tools. Working closely with Made for Life, tutors will have confidence that the information and course content they share with their students is up-to-date and accurate.
- Phase 1 – Advanced Cancer Touch Therapy
- Phase 2 – Tutor Training Tools including lesson plans and training materials for 6 theory modules and practical Cancer Touch Therapy training.
- Phase 3 – Tutor teaching practice and assessments.
- Level 3 or equivalent teaching certificate.
- Level 3 qualification in beauty therapy, massage therapy, holistic, or complementary therapies.
- Level 3 or equivalent in Anatomy & Physiology.
- Qualification must be OFQUAL registered.

Advance Cancer Touch Therapy
Refresher Training
To continue your learning and maintain a relevant qualification, our refresher training allows you to update your knowledge and ensure you are working with the latest developments in caring for clients living with cancer.
Refresher training is essential to maintain your qualification and SATCC listing.
The course is delivered online over 2.5 hours. It includes:
- What is Touch Therapy - what are the physical, emotional and mental changes that occur during Touch Therapy.
- Lymphoedema - a review of the causes, the symptoms, treatments and precautions.
- Medical cancer treatments - what are the main cancer treatments and what are their side effects?
- Made for Life products - a review of the 100% organic range and how they can alleviate some of the side effects of medical treatments for cancer.
- How Touch Therapy can benefit other medical conditions - How and why Touch Therapy can be used for a wide range of medical conditions not just cancer.
- Completion of the Advanced Cancer Touch Therapy Course up to and including June 2023.
Training Includes
- On completion of the course, learners are issued with a SATCC-approved certificate.
